About me

Sol is a PhD student from Almeria in the Atmospheric Physics Research Group of the Applied Physics Department of the University of Granada.

She graduated in Physics and later studied a Master in Meteorology and Geophysics at the University of Granada. His Master Thesis focused on the study of formation and growth of new particles during Saharan dust events in Granada and Sierra Nevada, which increased his interest in atmospheric aerosol and its interaction with clouds. In addition, he carried out the external practices of the Master with the same group (GFAT) at the Interuniversity Research Institute of the Earth System in Andalusia (IISTA), studying the interactions between urban surfaces and the atmosphere through the analysis of turbulent exchange with measurements of particle fluxes emitted in the urban area of Granada exploiting the Eddy covariance technique.

Between 2020-2022 he started his research career together with the Color Imaging Lab group of the Optics Department of the University of Granada in the framework of the A-TIC-050-UGR18 project "Automatic enhancement of atmospherically degraded images with multispectral techniques in the visible and infrared" through the Andalusia ERDF Operational Program 2014-2020 funded by the Junta de Andalucía and the European Development Fund (ERDF).

In September 2022 she joined as a PhD student the Research Group on Physics of the Atmosphere (GFAT) of the Interuniversity Institute for Research on the Earth System in Andalusia (IISTA), through the program of Grants for pre-doctoral contracts for the training of doctors 2021 (former FPI), linked to the project PID2020-120015RB-I00, EXPLORING THE AEROSOL-NUBE INTERACTION IN THE ATMOSPHERIC COLUMN THROUGH IMPROVED METHODS OF TELEDETECTION. In the framework of this project, his research is focused on the study of bioaerosol and other atmospheric aerosol particles and their interaction with clouds through the LIDAR Raman technique with depolarization and induced fluorescence.

As for teaching, she is in charge of the Mechanics and Waves practices in the Physics Degree at the University of Granada since the beginning of his doctoral studies.

Sol has contributed to 2 international congresses (oral communication at 14th AIC Congress, Milan 2021 and poster at 4th ACTRIS-2 WP3 Technical Meeting, Lille 2018) and has one scientific publication in a high impact journal, the second one being in review period.
