Enrique Pérez Sánchez-Cañete

enrique perezIn my scientific career I have focused on improving the knowledge of subsurfaceCO2 dynamics, distinguishing which are the main factors involved in its transport and exchange with the atmosphere. In 2006 I finished my studies in Environmental Sciences. From 2007 to 2009 I was working as technical support staff for a research project based on the regeneration of vegetation after a fire, collaborating jointly with the departments of Botany, Terrestrial Ecology and Applied Physics of the University of Granada. At the end of 2009, I started my PhD thesis in the Department of Desertification and Geoecology at the Experimental Station of Arid Zones (CSIC) and at the beginning of 2010 I finished the Master in Geophysics and Meteorology. In June 2013 I defended my PhD thesis entitled "Characterization of CO2 exchanges in deep soils and caves and their role in the net ecosystem carbon balance", receiving the extraordinary PhD award from the University of Granada. After defending the doctoral thesis and throughout 2014, I was working with a postdoctoral contract associated with my doctoral fellowship. At the end of 2013 I got a Marie Curie IOF fellowship and delayed the start until January 2015. During 2015-2016 I was working on "Biosphere 2" at the University of Arizona and during 2017 University of Granada. During 2018 and 2019 I was working as a postdoctoral Juan de la Cierva Incorporation in the Department of Applied Physics at UGR. Since the end of 2019 I have been an Indefinite PhD Professor at the University of Granada.
