About me

I am currently an Associate Professor at the University of Granada. I have a degree in Physics from the University of Granada (2009), I obtained a Master's degree in Geophysics and Meteorology in 2010 and a PhD in Physics and Space Sciences in 2014.

Research interests:

My research interests include the study of microphysical and chemical properties of aerosols and clouds using a broad range of measurement techniques (mainly ground-based in-situ techniques within dedicated field campaigns and laboratory studies), aerosol optical properties, aerosol hygroscopicity, aerosol-cloud interactions, study of biogenic and dust aerosols and their impact on clouds in natural environments like Sierra Nevada (Spain).

On-going projects:

I'm currently PI or co-PI of the following projects:

  1. Impact of primary and secondary biogenic emissions on cloud formation (BioCloud) (funded by MICINN)
  2. Towards a comprehensive understanding of the impact of natural aerosols on clouds (NUCLEUS) (funded by MICINN)
  3. Using ARM Data to Understand the Impact of New Particle Formation on Cloud Condensation Nuclei Concentration on Different Environments (funded by US DOE)

Teaching:

I am currently giving lectures on Methods and techniques for the study of aerosols at the Geophysics and Meteorology Master course (https://masteres.ugr.es/geomet/). I also teach at the Degrees in Physics, Environmental Sciences and Building Engineering at the University of Granada.
