Sergio Aranda Barranco

Sergio is a young researcher at the Department of Ecology at the University of Granada. He graduated in Environmental Sciences and Master in Meteorology. In the years 2017 and 2018 he collaborated in scientific and technical tasks in the departments of applied physics and ecology of the UGR through a research initiation scholarship (UGR) and a collaboration scholarship (MECD).

In 2019 he worked as a researcher under a project (ELEMENTAL of the National Plan) in various micrometeorological stations. In 2020 he obtained a FPU predoctoral fellowship (competitive, not associated with a project) from the Ministry of Universities through which he is carrying out his doctoral thesis "Flows of Greenhouse Effect Gases in Olive Groves at soil, vegetation and ecosystem level: Effect of herbaceous cover and irrigation".

Since 2018 he belongs to the atmospheric physics research group of the Interuniversity Research Institute of the Andalusian Earth System. With experience in plant eco-physiology, greenhouse gas fluxes in different terrestrial compartments (portable IRGAs, eddy covariance, etc.) and carbon balances in different ecosystems and agrosystems,

Sergio has participated in 4 competitive projects (2 regional and 2 national). He has also contributed to 23 conferences (2 oral presentations) and has 2 scientific publications in high-impact journals and a book chapter.
