I graduated in Physics from the University of Granada and completed a double Master’s degree in Geophysics and Meteorology together with a Master’s degree in Secondary Education Teaching, specializing in Physics and Chemistry. During both my undergraduate and master’s studies, I worked with several members of the Atmospheric Physics group, which led me to specialize in micrometeorology and measurements using the eddy covariance technique. I also collaborated in the development of a hypobaric chamber for measuring gas exchange in plants.
Afterwards, I moved to Germany to pursue my PhD at the University of Göttingen, where I developed two main research lines: instrumental validation of low-cost eddy covariance systems, and the study of long-term dynamics of CO2, H2O, and energy balances across several agroforestry systems and conventional crops in northern Germany. I also worked as a lecturer for two consecutive years in courses related to my research, including an introduction to the main meteorological variables and the principles behind their respective measurements, as well as practical experimentation using real data from temperature, humidity, radiation, and eddy covariance sensors.
Currently, I work as a postdoctoral researcher in the Atmospheric Physics Group. My current tasks involve the development of new eddy covariance instrumentation and the continuation of previous studies carried out by the group on carbon and water balances in different ecosystems of the southeastern Iberian Peninsula.
